International Activities 2018-19

Hanley Castle High School encourages all students to understand that they are part of an international community and impress on them their need to harbour respect and tolerance towards other cultures and nationalities. We highlight international themes across the curriculum and all subject areas are integral in creating an international environment. Trilingual and multilingual signs emphasise to students that they belong to a school that embraces its global neighbours. The school has a wide-ranging programme of visits, exchanges and international links. Our key international partners are:

1. Rhön-Gymnasium in Bad Neustadt, Germany
2. Jining Confucius International School in Jining, China
3. Maweni Primary School in Tanga, Tanzania

Our key international curriculum activities for 2018-19 are:

1. KS3 China Student Exchange Programme with Jining Confucius International School 2019
2. Years 9 and 10 German Exchange with Rhön-Gymnasium 2019
3. Year 8 ‘Café’ Project 2018
4. Year 8 'Day of the Dead' Art Project 2018
5. Year 7 'Hanley Vision Project 2018
6. KS4 and KS5 Cultural Tour of China with Jining Confucius International School 2019
7. British Council Collaborating Classrooms Project with Maweni Primary School 2019

Our newly formed partnership with Maweni Primary School and Hanley Swan Primary School will allow further development of our international ethos across the whole school.
