Learning Support Assistant (EAL/Ukrainian Intervention)

We are seeking to appoint a Temporary Learning Support Assistant to work closely with our EAL (English an Additional Language) Coordinator to implement the whole-school EAL strategy for our Ukrainian students. The successful candidate will work under the direction of classroom teachers to ensure that Quality First Teaching is delivered to students with EAL.

We are looking for someone with excellent Ukrainian language skills, a good working knowledge of the Ukrainian education system and a passion for helping young people to develop their understanding and experiences to reach their full potential.

Salary: TA2, SCP5-6 £21,575 - £21,968 FTE

Working hours: 25 hours contract, Monday-Friday, term time only plus a proportion of 5 TED Days.

Terms: This a temporary contract for 1 year in the first instance.

Start date: As soon as possible.

Learning Support Assistant 

We are seeking to appoint a caring, dedicated Learning Support Assistant (Teaching Assistant) to join our Aspire@Hanley team. The successful candidate will work closely with the SENCO, Deputy SENCo and Senior LSA to implement the whole-school SEND strategy and ensure that Quality First Teaching is delivered to students with SEND.

Salary: Scale 1, SCP1, £20,258 FTE

Working hours: 25 hours permanent contract, Monday-Friday, term time only plus a proportion of 5 TED Days. 

Start date: As soon as possible.

Laboratory Technician (Maternity Cover)

Hanley Castle High School is looking to appoint an organised, methodical Laboratory Technician (Maternity Cover) to work in the Science Department. The successful candidate will assist in the organising of equipment and resources to support teaching and learning at all levels (ages 11-18).

Experience working in science laboratories, a practical background and GCSE level science or equivalent is desirable.

Salary: Scale 3, SCP5 – SCP6, £21,575.00 FTE - £21,968.00 FTE 

Working hours: 37 hours per week, term time only plus 10 days.

Start date: To be confirmed. Expected start date April 2023.

Terms: Maternity Cover for up to 12 months.

Temporary Cover Supervisor

We are seeking to appoint a Temporary Cover Supervisor, for one year in the first instance, to supervise pre-prepared lessons in the absence of a teacher. The successful candidate will maintain a purposeful learning atmosphere and keep students on task, as well as have a passion for helping young people reach their full potential.

Hours: 32.5 hours per week. Monday-Friday 8.30am-3.30pm. Term time only plus 5 TED days.

Salary: £16,805.31 to £20,168.03

Start date: As soon as possible.

Cleaner

Hanley Castle High School, part of Hanley & Upton Education Trust, is looking to recruit an enthusiastic person to join our highly valued site team. The individual will provide a clean and pleasant environment in order to facilitate the effective use of the school by those staff and pupils who occupy it.

Hours: 15 hours per week , 4.00pm-7.00pm Monday to Friday. Term-time only plus 20 days in the holidays.

Morning shifts may be available.

Salary: £8,056.51 per annum (based on 15 hours per week, term time only plus 20 days)
